53rd Japanese Film Festival

Within bilateral collaboration, in association with the Embassy of Japan in Moscow.

You can be sure in two things: the sunrise and the diversity of the Japanese cinema festival, a wonderful and constant component of the Russian cinematic landscape. In the new program, films for the whole family coexist with extreme genre patterns. Takashi Miike keeps ground: his new work is called "First Love", but it abounds with blood.

There is high art class, magic, adrenaline and inexpressible cinema charm in every picture, whether it's fabulous anime “Children of the Sea”, fantastic comedy “Dance with Me”, thriller “12 Suicidal Teens”, documentary biography of wonderful pianist “Fujiko” or radiating all the colors of the rainbow comedy about children (but not only for them) “We are little zombies”. If you don’t have time to see everything, choose according to your mood: if you like secrets and thrills - the criminal comedy “Fable” and the detectives “Masquerade Hotel” and “Destiny” are for you. If you prefer funny or sad, but always witty films about parents and children relationship, “Room Laundering”, “Bento Harrasment” and “My Dad is a Heel Wrestler” is for you. Dazai Osamu’s biography “No Longer Human” dips us in the world og classic Japanese literature. “The Man from The Sea” is a showpiece by Kôji Fukada, winner of Un Certain Regard at Cannes and participant of Locarno Film Festival. Comedy genre is represented in “Samurai Shifters”. “A Banana? At This Time of Night?” is a touching story of friendship and love. There’s also a film adaptation of popular single “Little Love Song”.

Tickets: 250-450 RUB
