4TH NEURODIVERSITY FILM FESTIVAL IS HELD UNDER THE AEGIS OF THE MENTAL HEALTH UNION, RUSSIA

Despite the fact that mental disorders are being studied and discussed more and more, the experience of neurodivergent people is still difficult to be filmed.

The films of the 4th Doсu-Mental Festival explore the feelings, thoughts and behavior of people with psychiatric diagnoses without oversimplifying them or packing them into convenient stereotypes.

This year's festival films focus on women's stories in all their diversity: heroines from different countries, of different ages and experiences get the right to tell their stories in the first person.

How is a panic attack experienced? What happens to children when their mother decides to commit suicide? What communication difficulties do women with autism experience? And why, in a society of discrimination, are the sick the first to take the hit?

In the delicate and deep films that won different festival awards, the directors try to close the distance between the familiar world and the reality of neurodivergent people: in each Docu-mental hero, you can feel a part of yourself in the most vulnerable moments of life.
