Park Avenue: Money, Power and the American Dream is a film about the moat that America’s richest citizens have constructed around themselves. In roughly the last forty years, the establishment of that moat – politically and economically - has resulted in unprecedented inequality in the United States.

Nowhere is this more evident than on Park Avenue. This famed New York address is currently home to the most billionaires in the country. Across the river, less than five miles away it runs through the South Bronx, home to the poorest congressional district in the United States.

Directed by Academy Award winner Alex Gibney, the film reveals that while income disparity has always existed in the U.S., it has sharply increased over the last 40 years. As of 2010, 400 of the richest Americans controlled more wealth than the bottom half of the country — 150 million people. As a result, upward mobility is now a pipe dream for much of the poor and middle classes.
