19th German Film Festival

The 19th German Film Festival offers two panoramas at once: on the modern German everyday life and on the global world, as it appears from Germany. The program includes dramas about provincial teenagers, comedies about middle-class families, as well as films about the borders of the first and third worlds, ethnic contradictions and social crises.

The festival program is distinguished by a focus not only on young directors, but also on the theme of youth. There are films about the dialogue of cultures, the dramas of growing up are multifaceted: from stories about sexuality to a cartoon about childhood in the late GDR.

In each film, the main theme is taken out of complex context and allows us to look at Germany as part of our common home.
