CIFRA. 8th Hungarian Film Festival

CIFRA, the 8th festival of new Hungarian cinema is five selected and absolutely different films. At the opening there's the long-awaited Russian premiere of EDEN by Ágnes Kocsis, the star in directing the first decade of the 21st century. In Moscow, she present her new film personally.

Passion and belief in the successful resolution of any conflicts is present in all the films of the program, including the shocker-filled horror film POST MORTEM. A love story PREPARATIONS TO BE TOGETHER FOR AN UNKNOWN PERIOD OF TIME is a romance bordering on surrealism. And a nice romcom CREAM turns out to be quite original and not stereotyped.

A highlight of the festival is the new film by Istvan Szabo FINAL REPORT. The Director is 84, but still passionate and young in heart; and his new alliance with actor Klaus Maria Brandauer (who is only five years younger) is a celebration of freedom, spontaneity and talent.
