Cherkashin. Perestroika Performance

The film chronicles the work of a pair of world-renowned performance artists. It focuses on a series of performances by Valera and Natasha Cherkashin, which they staged in the early 1990s at the Ploshchad Revolyutsii (Revolution Square) Moscow metro station. The artists' work was framed and informed by a unique historical context: the country in which they were born and raised was rapidly disappearing, and with it, the symbols, heroes, and visual system of an entire era.
