Director

Actor, director, playwright and teacher.

Laureate of the Golden Mask Award, the "Made in Russia" awards, the Herald Angel Award, and the Total Theatre Award and others.

In 1999, he graduated from the acting faculty of the Voronezh State Academy of Arts. In 2006, he graduated from the directing faculty of the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute (workshop of M. B. Borisov), and in 2006–2008 he completed an assistantship-internship there.

From 1999 to 2002, he worked as an actor at the Samara Academic Gorky Drama Theatre. From 2013 to 2020, he was artistic director of the independent theatre "18+" in Rostov-on-Don. Since October 2014, he has been curator of the acting laboratory at the Moscow School of New Cinema. From December 2021 to February 2023, he was chief director of the Taganka Theatre.

Is known for his experimental approach, the blending of genres and forms, and the active involvement of actors in the process of creating a production. He stages both classical works and contemporary drama, often turning to documentary theatre ("verbatim").
