The Poet and the Tsar

The film screening program dedicated to the life and works of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin is part of a large-scale joint project of the Tsarskoye Selo Museum-Reserve and the All-Russian A.S. Pushkin Museum with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The traveling exhibition project "The Poet and the Tsar" opened in Tsarskoye Selo in the year of the 225th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin. In 2025, it began its journey across Russia in Novosibirsk, and will then continue in Tyumen and Salekhard. The exhibition is complemented by a lecture program and a series of special screenings of Russian films from different eras.

The list of screen adaptations of Pushkin's works and biographical dramas about his life has long exceeded a hundred titles, so the most iconic films, the history of whose creation is closely intertwined with the history of the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Reserve, were selected for the program.
