Historical theatre on the screen of "Illusion"

From March 19 to 28, the Illuzion Cinema will host the International Film Festival "Historical Theatre on the Screen of Illuzion." This is a unique opportunity not only to see screen versions of iconic stage productions on the big screen but also to trace the history of the development of Russian theatre. The screening of productions that were pivotal for their time allows us not only to preserve and enhance the legacy of the past but also to look to the future by paying attention to the authorial traditions and schools that laid the foundation for contemporary performing arts. Hilarious comedies, unexpected conceptual adaptations of Russian classics, breathtaking screen versions of classical opera and ballet — just like in the repertoire of any top-tier theatre, audience members will be able to find a performance to their taste in the festival's schedule.

This is a chance to once again meet and discover beloved actors from an unexpected side, whose talent continues to inspire us through the ages. At our screenings, you will see such screen stars as Innokenty Smoktunovsky, Vitaly Solomin, Natalya Gundareva, Elena Koreneva, Lyudmila Gurchenko, Oleg Dal, Mikhail Ulyanov, Vladimir Zeldin, Igor Kostolevsky, Nikolai Karachentsov, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Yuri Nikulin, Andrei Mironov, Marina Neyolova, Tatyana Peltzer, Oleg Yankovsky, Elena Obraztsova, Rudolf Nureyev and many others.

The festival is organized by the State Film Fund of Russia and the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation (STD RF), with this event dedicated to the latter's 150th anniversary. Program partners of the festival are the Branch of VGTRK Gosteleradiofond, and TheatreHD.

Come to the Illuzion Cinema to witness the sublime union of cinema and theatre!
