KARO.Art, V-A-C Foundation and Cineticle magazine present a special screening of the legendary Dennis Hopper's film “The Last Movie” in the new 4K restoration, on September 20, at the Oktyabr cinema center.
The show is part of the project “Expanding Space”. Before the film, some trailers and a short film "Day D" by the workshop “District Dreams” will be shown.
Dennis Hopper's legendary lost film, shot in Peru with the participation of local residents and a gang of friends of Hollywood enfant terrible. The dizzying success of Easy Rider (1969) convinced Universal that independent projects could have more profit than the produced in Hollywood. Received a million of dollars and freedom of action, Dennis Hopper and his friends went south to Peru, where they began to shoot a semi-improvised western and at the same time, the process itself.
The irregular picture won special prize of the Venice Film Festival.
